A DEAL has been signed by Primark to open up a store at the Whitefriars Shopping Centre in Canterbury.
The cut price giant will take over three floors, equalling 40,300 square foot, in the current BHS store which closes in January.
The store is due to open next summer.
Whitefriars owners Henderson Global Investors have also signed agreements with Danish retailer Tiger for a 2,700 square foot unit at the centre.
Senior portfolio manager Jason Boyce said: “Attracting such strong brands with exceptional covenants is testimony to the strength of the retail market in Canterbury.
“From our perspective, the fundamental investment criteria in Canterbury are sound.
“Along with a tenant mix that continues to grow in strength, the city is underpinned by a solid tourism trade.
“With the news of other deals in the pipeline we fully expect to increase volumes of visitors from within the Whitefriars catchment.”
