FAVERSHAM residents have been warned to be wary of a Tarmac scam.

Kent Trading Standards have received reports of a man cold calling at homes claiming that his company has left over Tarmac from a job they are working on nearby patching potholes.

He implied that they were working for Kent County Council highways or utility companies.

The man is described as middle-aged of stocky build. He wore clean workman clothes and a brand new high-visibility orange waistcoat.

Anyone who has fallen victim to this scam or has information should call Trading Standards via Citizen Advice Consumer Service on 08454 04 05 06.
